Imphal, September 12 2021:
CPI executive member Bimol, who is going to be fielded as the party's candidate for the Assembly polls, has stated that the party will extend its full support to party leader Pheiroijam Parijat so as to help turn his vision into reality.
The 20th annual conference of Lamlai Local CPI was held at Irawat Memorial Hall, Lamlai Chalou on Sunday with N Tombi and M Ibotombi as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Bimol noted that Pheiroijam Parijat not only represented Lamlai AC for a long time, but also was one of the stalwart leaders of the party.
As such, he (Bimol) vowed to realise Parijat's vision of an equal society for farmers and workers alike, with the support of the party.
Observing that the current year has been particularly harsh for the people of Lamlai AC, Bimol said that CPI has been urging the government to ensure equal distribution of seeds for winter crops and payment of compensation for failed crops.
He then cautioned of launching intense protests with the people if the government fails to do the needful.
In his speech, Dr Nara remarked that Jananeta Irawat had a close relationship with the farmers and the general populace of Lamlai AC.
The communists of Lamlai faced many atrocities while trying to protect Manipur, the result of which can be witnessed in the form of a strong territorial integrity of the state at present, he added.
The conference was attended by Party central executive member Dr M Nara and state secretary L Sotinkumar, along with other party leaders Rk Amusana and Th Megha.
