Four arrested with drugs worth lakhs

Imphal, September 04 2026:
During the last 48 hours, security forces arrested four individuals in separate operations and seized drugs worth lakhs of rupee.
The arrested persons have been identified as FM Mustakim (21), Md Afzal Khan (24), Md Zamir Ahamed alias Athoiba (24) and Nurbanu alias Rani, said police.
FM Mustakim was arrested with 29.3 Kg of WY tablets yesterday (September 3) .
A truck he was driving was intercepted while moving from Imphal to Cachar along NH-37, said the police.
Upon checking the truck, security forces found 25 packets containing approximately 29.3 kilograms of WY tablets.
FM Mustakim hails from Lilong Chingkham Makha Dam, under Lilong police station, Thoubal district.
Md Afzal Khan and Md Zamir Ahamed alias Athoiba, on the other hand, were arrested with 190 bottles of codeine-based contraband from Khabam Lamkhai, Imphal East in a separate operation yesterday, said the police.
The two had procured the contraband from Maram, Senapati for Rs 50,000, and were attempting to sell it for Rs 1 lakh.
The police also seized one Maruti Suzuki Swift car and two mobile phones from their possession.
The fourth person, Nurbanu alias Rani was arrested during a search operation at Khabeisoi Maning Leikai by Heingang police and Imphal East Commandos today.
From Nurbanu's possession, the police seized 400 Nitrapal-10 tablets, 59 small vials containing heroin No 4 and Rs 14,100 in cash.
