Tengnoupal, September 12 2021:
Kuki civil society organizations (CSOs) of Tengnoupal District convened a joint meeting on Sunday and deliberated on various matters.
In regards to the upcoming State Assembly Election, the meeting unanimously resolved to not endorse any candidate from outside Tengnoupal district.
All the attendees raised their hands in support of the resolution that CSOs, Chiefs and residents of Tengnoupal district would not lend support to any candidates who are from outside 42-Tengnoupal AC.
Besides, the meeting deliberated on the frequent transfer of Deputy Commissioners in the District.
4 DCs had been changed in the district since january 2021 and the present DC was also reported to be transferred soon.
Terming it as illogical, the meeting vehemently condemned the frequent transfer of Deputy Commissioner from Tengnoupal while adding that DC Tengnoupal, H Rupachandra, IAS was transferred from the district in January 2021 and was replaced by M Rajkumar, IAS.
On April 10, 2021, M Rajkumar was also replaced by Sharath Chandra Arroju, IAS.
Moreover, Sharath Chandra Arroju was again replaced by the incumbent DC, Naorem Praveen, IAS on April 20 .
It also mentioned that frequent transfers of DCs from Tengnoupal is hurting the interests of the district, as no officer is getting proper time to focus on the developmental needs of the area.
The meeting further decided to strictly observe Kuki Black Day on September 13 and urged all the chiefs and villagers to put black flags in every household on the day.
