NRC, OSMT fete Prof N Rajmuhon

National Research Centre (NRC) and Oja Sana-jaoba Memorial Trust (OSMT) felicitated Bharat Shiksha Ratna Award-2021 recipient Professor Nongmaithem Rajmuhon, who is also the former vice chancellor of DM University, in a function held at Naorem Sanajaoba Public Library Hall located near MU main gate on Sunday.
The function was attended by AMUCO advisor Ito Tongbram and NRC president Dr Naorem Jibit Meitei among others.
As part of the function, Prof N Rajmuhon was honoured by presenting a shawl and a memento.
During the programme, the dignitaries appreciated life and achievements of Prof N Rajmuhon, including his tenure as a faculty member in the Chemistry Department of MU, wherein he helped produce 16 research scholars, co-guided 8 M Phil students, published 115 research papers, authored 8 books and co-authored 9 books.
Ito Tongbram said that teachers should help guide the future generations onto the right path, adding that a good society is dependent on good teachers.
Fawning on connections is the biggest factor behind the degradation of the society.
Lastly, teachers play a key role in strengthening the bonds between the hill and the valley, he added.
In his speech, Dr Naorem Jibit said that Prof N Rajmuhon is one of the top science teachers in the state, who has proven his prowess not only in the field of science but also in the literature field wherein he preaches the idea of Manipuri nationalism.
