'Tengbang' launched, monetary assistance provided to 84 women

'Tengbang', a welfare scheme for the people of Heirok AC was launched on Saturday under the supervision of former president, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), Moirangthem Okendro.
For the first phase of the scheme, monetary assistance of Rs 5000 each was provided to 84 women of Benggi village.
The programme was organised by Benggi Women's Unit Congress Committee and 33/17 Benggi Unit Committee at Benggi Community Hall.
It was attended by former Minister Moirangthem Okendro; Heirok Block Congress Committee (HBCC) president, Thokchom Ranjan; Charangpat Zilla Parishad Member, Ph Heramani Singh and Wangkhem Zilla Parishad Member, Kh Sobha Singh as presidium members.

Speaking on the occasion, Moirangthem Okendro lauded the Women's Unit Committee of Benggi for providing Rs 5000 each to 84 women.
He aslo assured monetary assistance to 100 households of Heirok AC in order to aid the people who are suffering due to COVID-19 pandemic.
The former Minister also mentioned that he has been providing pension money to 1682 persons under Ibotombi Memorial Charitable Trust along with financial aid of Rs 10,000 each to cancer patients of the district.
M Okendro further appealed to the people of Heirok AC to wake up and provide their support in order to bring change and development in the constituency.
