Imphal, April 21 2022:
Governor La Ganesan has stated that any cross-border infiltration or illegal immigration to the state should be checked and the perpetrators sent back.
On the second day of his two days' visit to Ukhrul and Kamjong districts, the Governor interacted with villagers at a programme held at Town Hall of Kamjong District Headquarters on Wednesday.
Addressing the gathering, Ganesan said that infiltrators are deliberately trying to sneak into India's territory from the Myanmar side mostly in the Border areas.
"As we are sharing a long border with Myanmar, all should remain vigilant to check such act and inform authorities if such case arises," he said.
While noting that being a border state, the government of Manipur alone cannot stop such illegal activities without the people's cooperation, the Governor said that the central and the state governments are fully committed to ensuring all round development and to give maximum benefits to the people.
The Governor also conveyed that roads are being constructed and assured availability of basic infrastructures in Kamjong district.
Any issues pertaining to development will be taken care of by the state government and if necessary the centre would be apprised, he added.
The Governor further urged the people to follow and implement ABCD which means A for Aadhaar enrolment, B for opening bank account, C for Covid-19 vaccination and D for taking part in developmental activities.
Phungyar MLA Leishiyo Keishing also attended the interaction programme and greeted the Governor during his visit to Kamjong district.
The Governor was accorded a warm welcome by deputy commissioner of Kamjong R Rang Peter on his arrival at the district headquarters.
Earlier, various CSOs submitted memoranda to the Governor and urged him to take prompt action concerning different issues.
