AISEC alleges flaw in NEP 2020, convenes meeting

Maintaining that implementation of the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020 across the nation will create various issues in the education system, All India Save Education Committee would be hosting a mega public discussion on the theme 'Save Education' to create awareness on the negative impacts of the NEP 2020 at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi on May 9.' Announcing this during a press meet held at Manipur Press Club here on Thursday, AISEC secretariat member professor Pradip Mahapatra said that the people of Manipur as well as the entire country need to get better knowledge about NEP 2020 .
Nationwide implementation of NEP 2020 will create various problems in adaptation and infrastructure related matters.
The public need to understand the conspiracy behind the NEP 2020 and AISEC is hosting a mega public discussion in this regard in New Delhi next month, he said and appealed to the intellectuals of the state, who are working in the held of education, to participate in the discussion programme.
AISEC special committee member Dr Kiran Yendrembam also emphasised on the need for creating awareness on the negative impacts of NEP 2020 among the public.
NEP 2020 has policies for utilising Anganwadi workers in teaching students with low pay, policy for bringing in corporate bodies and foreign private bodies to make education as their business ground.
It is a step towards privatisation and commercialisation of education.
Though the new policy has provisions for good school buildings, it also has provisions for big gap in teacher-student ratio, the member said and added that the May 9 event is a platform to inform the public about such policies that could create problems in the education sector in the future.
