Fund reserved for rooftop solar plants: RK Imo

Sagolband MLA RK Imo said that he has reserved Rs 1 crore from his local area development fund for installation of rooftop solar power plants in all the community halls of the constituency, and installation work will begin soon.
RK Imo made the announcement while attending as chief guest at the 48th foundation day of Sagolband Mantrimayum Leikai Voluntary Organisation (SMLVO) along with inauguration of the club's new build ing held at Sagolband Bijoy Govinda Leikai here on Saturday.
He said that clubs which have paying electric bill will be relieved of such task once the solar power plants are operationalised.
It will also make a major contribution to the CM's Go Green mission by adopting green energy as it will help in providing solar lighting in nearby streets and public places of the rooftop solar power plants without any extra cost.
The MLA further said that he is planning to upgrade buildings of all the clubs in his constituency to double-storey structures similar to the building of SMLVO, which was constructed under MOBEDS funding.
He also said that he is taking up initiatives to make Sagolband the most advanced AC in the state.
SMLVO president Achom Kholendro presided over the function while Bijoy Govinda Sevayat Committee president RK Rashmani, IMC Ward no 7 former corporator RK Jiten, IMC Ward no 10 former corporator S Tiken, IMC Ward no 24 former corporator G Bino and former health services director Dr K Rajo attended as guests of honour.
