Union alleges Govt apathy to victims of natural calamities

Federation of All Tribal Youth Clubs Manipur (FATYCM) has expressed strong resentment over the government's alleged negligence and failure of focusing on plight of the victims who faced serious problem during windstorm/Strong wind/flood and other natural calamities occurred from April 1 to June 30 in the hill districts.
In a release, FATYCM secretary Letthang Haokip cited sources as disclosing that deputy commissioners concerned had already submitted relevant documents/ lists of the affected people to the director (Relief & Disaster Management), Manipur in August.
However, the government has turned a deaf ear on this matter, he lamented.
The failure of the BJP led governments both in the state and at the centre to pay attention to the needy people who lost their properties and belongings for the last half year has compelled to suspect that the central government is neglecting people in the Northeast, he maintained.
The secretary appealed to authorities concerned to do the needful at the earliest so as to ease the hardships faced by the poor people of the state.
