Rio castigates MHA for opposing Naga cause

Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio has accused Shambu Singh, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) of constantly opposing the Nagas.
"He is no doubt the Manipur cadre of IAS and today he has been constantly working against us in collaboration with Manipur chief minister O Ibobi Singh," alleged Rio.
Addressing an election rally in Tamenglong district headquarters today, Rio alleged that Shambu Singh attempted to block his way to Tamenglong district today.
Yesterday, the chief minister office, Nagaland had alleged that Shambu Singh was trying to prevent Rio's chopper from landing in a helipad in Tamenglong town.
Rio then narrated how Manipur chief minister Ibobi was trying to block him from attending the NPF programme in Senapati.
Meanwhile, Neiphiu Rio thanked the Nagas for making him chief minister for the past 11 years.
He said in so much things have been done during his tenure and yet there are many more yet to be done.
Neiphiu Rio became the chief minister of Nagaland in the year 2003 in the newly revived NPF after resigning from the Congress party.
Lauding the the people of Tamenglong to take there time to come to the election rally of Soso Lorho, the NPF candidate today, Rio said in Nagaland all the political parties suported him in the ensuing Lok Sabha poll except for the Congress.
"There may not be that hectic in poll canvassing in Nagaland as most of the people are with them," a confident Rio stated.
Revealing on the reason to the people of Tamenglong why he is contesting the Lok Sabha election Rio said, "There is a larger responsibility in Delhi so I have taken this decision." He then appealed the gathering to vote for Soso Lorho on April 9. Earlier in the day, Rio landed at Tamei town, also in Tamenglong district and addressed an election rally.
Rio was accompanied by Nagaland Planning minister TR Zeliang and orther NPF leaders.
