Village Botanists Course concludes

The 2nd batch of Village Botanists Course that began from March 24 organised by Manipur Biodiversity Board in collaboration with Institute of Ayurveda and Integrative Medicine (I-AIM), an Expression of FRLHT, Bangalore concluded today at the Main Conference Hall of Forest Head Office, Sanjenthong.
Chief Secretary PC Lawmkunga, who is also the chairman of Manipur Biodiversity Board; AK Rana, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Manipur; and PN Prasad, APCCF and Dr K Haridasan, Director, FRLHT graced the valedictory function of the course today as the chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.
Delivering the keynote address, Dr K Haridasan said that biodiversity rich India has attracted global attention.
Organising such course would pay rich dividend towards the preservation of the biodiversity.
Speaking at the occasion, PC Lawmkunga said that medicinal plants in the State would be identified and preserved under Biodiversity Act.
He also said that the number of the course trainees would be increased from next year in order to spread the awareness to maximum number of people an villagers.
A souvenir was also released during the function.
