Guv inaugurates Chhau Parva

Governor VK Duggal today inaugurated the three-day long Chhau Parva, festival of Chhau dances at JN Manipur Dance Academy here.
The festival has been organised by the Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi.
Chhau dance is a genre of Indian tribal martial dance which enjoyed wide popularity in Odisha, Jharkhand and West Bengal.
Welcoming the performers who come from different parts of the country, the Governor in his speech, urged them to imbibe the art form of the State through interactions with the Gurus and Shusyas of JNMDA besides enjoying the scenic beauty of the State.
The inaugural function of the Chhau Parva was also attended by N Tombi Singh, Vice-Chairman, JNMDA and prominent artists among others.
