Will choose party as per people's decision: Ex-MLA

While declaring that he will contest in the upcoming state assembly election, Kakching A/C ex-MLA Yengkhom Surchandra said that choice of party will be decided after discussing with the people of the constituency.
Speaking on the sidelines of presenting gifts to aged people and widows of Pallel at Pallel Maning Leikai community hall on Sunday, Surchandra highlighted that he had done several developmental works for Kakching A/C while he was an MLA.
In order to continue working for the welfare of the people decision has been made to contest the upcoming election, he added.
"Many have enquired about the political party that I will join to contest the upcoming election.
I did not resigned from Congress party and the disqualification case which is pending in the Supreme Court is also being fought as a member of Congress.
If I win the case then I will return as Congress MLA," he remarked, while adding that he worked for the people primarily rather than for himself and the party.
The gifts presentation function was attended by Pallel GP pradhan Md Mukimuddin, Kakching Municipal Council former vice chairperson Moirangthem Brojen, ex-councillors Pukhrambam Sanahal Devi, Kshetrimayum Radhamani Devi, Irengband GP former pradhan Th Inaocha Singh and local elders.
