AR organises ex-servicemen meet

Chandel Battalion of HQ 26 Sector Assam Rifles/IGAR (S) organised an ex-servicemen meet in Chandel district on Monday and Tuesday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the role of ex-servicemen towards nation building through their valuable experience of service was discussed during the meet and apprised about the progress made on their grievances and rectification of many anomalies.
Medical checkup facility for the ESM, veer naaris and widows was also setup during the meet.
Veterans were briefed about various government schemes pertaining to the welfare of the ex-servicemen, widows, veer naaris and their families as well as on the forthcoming recruitment rallies of Assam Rifles/Army so as to guide and encourage youth for joining armed forces, the PRO said.
The balance of grievances was cleared by the representatives of Suvigya cell by visiting the Zila Sainik Board office, Chandel on Tuesday.
ESM and veer naris extended their heartfelt gratitude towards Assam Rifles for taking good care for them, the PRO further said adding that altogether 70 ESM, veer naris, widows and families attended the meet.
On the other hand, Loktak Battalion of IGAR (S) organised a meeting with ex-servicemen of Bishnupur and Churachandpur districts on Tuesday.
The interaction was organised to reach out to the ESM and address their grievances and difficulties during these challenging Covid times and assist them accordingly, said the PRO in another release.
They expressed their heartfelt gratitude for this gesture by Assam Rifles and requested to conduct similar meets in future as well, it added.
