Public urged to install power prepaid meter

Imphal, September 16 2022:
Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited (MSPDCL) has appealed to the public to extend corporation during prepaid energy meter installation drive so that the state becomes 100 per cent prepaid metered in terms of energy metering at the earliest.
In a notification, MSPDCL managing director Ng Subachandra Singh informed that in pursuit of providing 24X7 uninterrupted power supply across the state, MSPDCL had been taking up Work for prepaid energy meter installation in consumer premises since September, 2021 .
As such, if any consumer(s) resist the installation programme, they are liable to be penalised with disconnection of up to two years under Section 135 of the Electricity Act, 2003 .
Informing that strict action to the extent of disconnection of any villages/areas evading installation of prepaid meter shall be taken up, he stated that the public's support will help definitely fast-track the process of achieving 24X7 uninterrupted power supply across the state.
The managing director also consumers/localities who/which have been not been covered by the installation drive to share their details to MSPDCL through the customer care centre on mobile number 7640081232/7640081238 or approach the nearest sub-station or division office by October, 2022 .
