14 vehicles vandalized during Jiri public curfew

Jiribam, August 01 2015 :
The 48-hour public curfew called by Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS), Jiribam Branch, supporting the JCILPS demand for implementation ILPS in the state, had disturbed the normal life in Jiribam area.
During the public curfew 14 vehicles, which were parked near police personnel, were vandalized while curfew supporters made bonfires at roads.
Schools, Govt offices, banks, post office, oil pumps, shops and markets were totally shut down and all the vehicles including those of Assam Rifles were blocked.
Declaring for more drastic agitations after the public curfew, Chairman of Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS), Jiribam Branch M Hemanta appealed to all for support and stressed on the importance of pressing the government for passing the ILP system bill to protect the indigenous communities of Manipur.
