Student bodies warns Govt

Joint Students' Co-ordination Committee, an apex body of AMSU, MSF, KSA and SUK, has condemned the Government for indulging in alleged activities of terrorism by killing of a student and injuring many, shutting down of all educational institutions in Imphal area and arrest of many innocent students who are demanding to safeguard the indigenous communities of Manipur.
"Schools and colleges have been shut down since the last nearly twenty five days.
We have already requested and appealed to the State Govt to reopen all educational institutes and punish all police personnel involved in the killing of Sapam Robinhood", said a release by Convener JSCC.
Vowing to support the activities of JCILP Students' Wing, JSCC blamed the Govt for trying to conduct competitive exams while shutting down all educational institutes.
Meanwhile, strongly condemning Govt's inaction against the police personel involved in the killing of Robinhood, Co-Ordination Committee of Colleges Students' Union Manipur (COCOCSUM) has warned the Manipur Govt of more unwanted agitations if it fails to reopen all schools and colleges from August 3, Monday.
A statement released by Convener COCOCSUM demanded resignation of Education Minister M Okendra for violating the right of the students.
COCOCSUM also vowed to launch strike against the govt until punishment is given to those involved in the killing of Robinhood, even if school and colleges continue to shut down for a year.
