Assistance provided to villagers marooned by flood

In its flood focused initiative, Assam Rifles provided assistance to people affected by flood.
Reports said that Assam Rifles continues providing support to over 1000 people by providing shelter, fresh meals and also providing packets of basic rations (rice, sugar, tea and salt) to these flood marooned people.

It may be mentioned that due to heavy and incessant rains, the low lying areas on the banks of Sekmai Turel have got submerged and more than 800 houses of island villages have got inundated.
Sensing the urgency, Assam Rifles swung into action and provided them basic needs, which was a major relief to the needy people of Kakching, Pallel and Thoubal particularly.
The village chiefs received the rations on behalf of villagers and expressed their gratefulness to the Assam Rifles for this benevolent act.
