Imphal, April 12 2015 :
All Tribal Students' Union Manipur (ATSUM) on Saturday submitted a memorandum to the Director of JNIMS for the immediate implementation of 200 point roster of Manipur Reservation of vacancies in post and services for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes and prompt action pertaining to the daily wage earners engaged in JNIMS.
In a statement signed and forwarded by the ATSUM President Muan Tombing said that the Government of Manipur in its cabinet meeting in May 2014, decided to adopt all the daily wage earners as contractual staff.
However, with the total absence of formal reservation policy at a time of engagement, blunt adoption of wage earners as contractual staff will mean nothing but add more salt to the wounds of the tribal people and other minority communities of the State.
ATSUM appealed to immediately implement 200 point roster of Manipur Reservation of vacancies in post and services for scheduled tribes in JNIMS in respect of daily wage earners before he adoption of daily wages earners as contractual staff is materialized.
ATSUM threatened various form of agitation if authority fails to address the issues.
