KSO Sardar Hills threatens stir over Laloiphai incident

Kuki Students' Organization (KSO) Sardar Hills on Sunday warned that it would launch as severe stir over the alleged dismantling of 10 houses of Laloiphai village reportedly by unidentified masked men numbering over 20 on Saturday early morning.
Demanding befitting punishment to the culprits, KSO Sardar Hills President Thangminlen Kipgen alleged that Laloiphai Village under Saitu-Gamphazol Block in Sadar Hills has been frequently attacked by Moidangpok Villagers.
KSO said that the early withdrawal of security forces deployed in Laloiphai Village is a matter of great concern and alleged that the 85 Bn CRPF stationed at Keithelmanbi Post had also remained a mute spectator.
KSO warned that spate of incidents could ignite "communal tension" between communities settled in Sardar Hills.
The student body alleged that on February 12, Laloiphai Village came under attack by villagers led by the Pradhan of Moidangpok.
Subsequently, on February 24, Chief of Laloiphai Village Holkhopao Haokip informed the circle MLA Ngamthang Haokip, IFCD Minister, Government of Manipur about the incident and requested him to provide security to the village.
On March 1 evening, security forces were deployed in the village but attacks on the village continued.
Thangminlen Kipgen claimed that such incidents over Laloiphai emphatically violated the laws of the land and was against human rights.
