NCM Member reviews MSDP

Together with leaders of different minority communities, National Commissioner for Minorities (NCM) Member Captain Praveen Davar today reviewed the Prime Minister's 15 Point Programme and the Multi Sectoral Development Programme (MSDP) .
Praveen Kumar who is in charge of Manipur, Meghalaya and Tripura arrived here on Friday on a three-day visit to the State.
He held a meeting with leaders of minority communities at Classic Hotel this afternoon.
Minority leaders requested him to establish a separate Minority Welfare Department in Manipur, upgradation of Lilong Haoreibi College to a Government University, timely disbursement of minority scholarships and rehabilitation and proper justice to the victims of 1993 communal riots.
Speaking at the gathering, Praveen Davar said that he was in the State to review the Prime Minister's 15 Point Programme and MSDP.
Any district whose total population has 20 per cent minority communities is eligible for MSDP.
As such, seven districts of Manipur are eligible for MSDP, Praveen Davar stated.
MoBC Parliamentary Secretary Md Amin Shah was also present at the meeting.
Leaders of minority communities who attended the meeting highlighted different community specific problems and issues to the visiting NCM Member.
Later in the evening, Capt Praveen Davar met Chief Minister Okram Ibobi.
