KSO Sadar Hills warns of intense stir over Laloiphai incident

Kuki Students' Organization (KSO), Sadar Hills has strongly condemned the alleged dismantling of 10 houses of Laloiphai village by 20 masked men on April 11.The organisation has also indicated its plan to launch various form of agitation in case the State fails to collar the culprits.
President KSO Sadar Hills Thangminlen Kipgen alleged that Laloiphai village, Sadar Hills had been frequently attacked by the Pradhan of Moidangpok village Gambhir Meetei and his followers in the past.
On April 11, more than 20 'masked' men dismantled around 10 houses of the village, he informed.
Expressing concern over the early withdrawal of security forces deployed in Laloiphai village, the KSO president stated that the 86 battalion CRPF at Keithelmanbi post failed to initiate any step with regard to the April 11 incident.
He alleged that Laloiphai village was attacked by Gambhir and a large number of his villagers on February 12 and unlawfully took away the village signboard and threatened to burn down the village.
Subsequently, on February 24 chief of Laloiphai village, Holkhopao Haokip sent a communique to MLA Ngamthang Haokip, IFCD Minister, Government of Manipur and requested him to provide security forces to protect the villagers.
Accordingly, on March 1 evening, security forces were deployed in the village.
Before the security forces were deployed at the village, Gambhir Meetei and his villagers attacked the village twice on February 25 at around 8 pm and on March 1.The attacks left a number of houses in ruins, he alleged.
A pregnant woman was also severely beaten up during the attacks.
The KSO, Sadar Hills has resolved to launch intense form of agitation in case the Government fails to nab the culprits and give them befitting punishment, Thangminlen Haokip stated.
