Students watch live telecast of PM's speech on Teacher's Day

Following instruction from the Zonal Education Officer, Kangpokpi, most educational institutions within Kangpokpi and under ZEO, Kangpokpi made arrangement for the students to watch the live telecast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech on Teacher's Day on Friday.
Private run educational institutions as well as schools under Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council, Kangpokpi and around 180 schools under ZEO, Kangpokpi watched the live telecast of the Prime Minister speech on Teacher's Day, source from ZEO, Kangpokpi said.
Students were surprised as they had never seen such events in the past, said a teacher.
According to Ngahchong Kipgen, Zonal Education Officer, Kangpokpi all the educational institutions under ZEO, Kangpokpi including private run schools adhered with the instruction and arranged everything in their respective schools to let the children watched the live telecast of PM's address for the first time.
The officer continued that those schools in remote areas where TV facility is not available used Radio to hear the Prime Minister's speech.
In Chandel district, to enable the students to watch the live telecast of the Prime Minister's address, authorities of ZEO Chandel and Autonomous District Council clubbed together the schools in cluster and arranged TV sets.
At Maha Union Govt Higher Secondary School, 9 schools under the District Council were clubbed together along with Hnatham Cluster.
Deputy Commissioner of Chandel Robert Singh Kshetrimayum, IAS; Chandel SDO Killu Siva Kumar Naidu, IAS, and other officials of the district council and ZEO staffs were also present on the occasion.
The Chandel DC also led the entire team in visiting to Liwachangning Primary school under District Council and Liwachangning Govt High school under ZEO.
When the media reached the school at Liwachangning, it was found that students and teachers were watching the PM's address.
ADC Chandel As Kashung MCS, who led a team to the western Part of Chandel to monitor the celebration, informed media that the celebration was done satisfactorily.
There is also report of all private schools in the district celebrating the event.
Jiribam Sub-division in Imphal East district also today joined the rest of the country in celebrating the Teachers' Day.
This year the celebration of Teachers' Day was held at most of the schools in Jiribam including Jiribam Govt.Higher Secondary school, Kalinagar Govt.High school, Netaji Govt.High School, Borobekra and Highway English School and so on.
During the celebration, students and teachers attended to the live telecast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Speech which was relayed from the National Capital of India.
