Foundation day celebrated

The Bank Of India (BOI), Thoubal Branch celebrated BOI's 109th foundation day today at its office premises along with the branch office's one year completion ceremony.
State Higher Education's Additional Director RK Yaiskul; BOI, Thoubal branch Manager, O Khogendro and Headmistress, L Mohini Devi presided over the foundation day event.
Briefing about BOI, RK Yaiskul urged the public to maintain good relationship with banks.
BOI was first established in September 6, 1906 in the State.
At present, the bank has about 4545 branches and 50 zonal offices across the country.
Boi also has a branch opened in the neighbouring country Myanmar, O Khogendro Singh informed.
In total, BOI has now about 50 international branches across the globe.
The Mahalaxmi branch in Mumbai, he added, is one of the first nationalised bank with computerised ATM facilities.
Including Thoubal, Imphal and Sainik School branches, BOI has successively opened 3 branches in Manipur.
Thoubal branch also provided Wood and Biomass Cookstove to its account holders at a cheap rate of Rs.350 per unit, which otherwise would cost Rs 1390, as part of the event.
