AR celebrates Teachers' Day

40 Assam Rifles of 9 Sect AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR(S) celebrated Teachers' Day on 05 Sep 2014 at Islamic English School, Lilong Hangamthabi.
On the occasion, a friendly volleyball match was also organised for the teachers of the school.
The event was attended by 35 teachers and 150 students who took active participation in the celebrations.
The unit also organised a prize distribution ceremony to felicitate the participants and hosted a tea party, after the match.
The unit also distributed a variety of sports items to the school to encourage sports in their institution.
The Post Commander assured the locals present that regular conduct of these events is to extend a friendly gesture and to reinforce the image of Assam Rifles as 'Friends of North East', according to a statement issued by PRO IGAR (S) .
Meanwhile, to commemorate the Teacher's Day, 2 Assam Rifles of 9 Sect AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (S) organised a Pagal Gymkhana for Teachers and School Children at Thoubal Football Ground on 06 Sep 2014 .
The event was a huge success, wherein 500 school going children and around 30 Teachers attended the function.
The event embraced games between the children of different standards and included a Tug of War between students and teachers.
Commandant of 2 Assam Rifles graced the occasion with other officers of the Battalion and the winners in each games category were awarded.
The Battalion's Jazz Band, fondly known as 'Tuskers� made the event look more elegant with fine tunes and songs played for the children, who enjoyed it by dancing.
The grand occasion culminated with a tasty lunch where variety of delicious food was served for the entire gathering.
Having been part of this great event, the teachers and parents of the children expressed their deep gratitude to the Assam Rifles for organising such a grand event.
In another occasion, 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) celebrated Teacher's Day at Pallel to include Assam Rifles High School, Pallel High School, Ideal High School, Trinity High School and V M School on 05 Sep 2014.To mark the occasion, a mid deal meal was organised for the students of Pallel High School (Govt aided).
Colonel S Renganathan, ADIG, 26 Sect Assam Rifles, appreciated the yeoman service being rendered by the teachers in providing education in these far flung areas.
He further emphasized the importance of Teachers Day and the need to emulate the achievements of our leading educationists.
The tokens of appreciation were presented to the teachers duly acknowledging their contributions in this field of education.
The Colonel exhorted them to continue providing good education and environment to this Gennxt empowering them to achieve their goals in life, the PRO infomed.
The PRO further conveyed that in yet another endeavor, 3 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) celebrated Teachers Day with schools of village Sehlon, Old Samtal, Phoilen and Tuitong on 05 Sep 2014.A number of programs including cultural dance were presented by the students on this occasion followed by the emphasis on the importance of good education by the Assam Rifles.
The Assam Rifles also distributed stationary items to the students and teachers in these schools in the initiative to promote education in this far flung remote area of Chandel district devoid of basic infrastructure.
Villagers appreciated and thanked the Assam Rifles for its initiative to promote education and prosperity.
