Assam Rifles observes Teacher's Day celebration

The 40 Assam Rifles of 9 Sect under the aegis of Hqs IGAR(S) celebrated Teacher's Day on September 5 at Islamic English School, Lilong Hangam Thabi.
A friendly volleyball match was also organised for the teachers of the school on the occasion.
The event was attended by 35 teachers and 150 students who took active participation in the celebration, said a statement issued by AR.
The unit also organised a prize distribution ceremony to felicitate the participants.
A tea party was further organised for the participants after the match.
The unit distributed variety of sports items to the school to encourage sports in their institution.
The event was well appreciated by all the teachers and local dignitaries who attended the function.
Post Commander assured the locals present, that a regular conduct of these events would extend a friendly gesture and reinforce the image of AR as the 'Friends of North East' .
Meanwhile, to commemorate Teacher's Day, 2 Assam Rifles of 9 Sect under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (S) organised a 'Pagal Gymkhana' for Teachers and School Children at Thoubal Football Ground on September 6 .

The event, wherein 500 school going children and around 30 Teachers attended, proved a huge success.
The event embraced games between the children of different standards including a Tug of War between students and teachers.
the winners in each game category were also awarded.
Commandant of 2 Assam Rifles graced the occasion with other officers of the Battalion.
The Battalion's Jazz Band, fondly known as 'Tuskers� also performed on the occasion.
The occasion culminated with a lunch organised by the AR for the entire gathering.
teachers and parents who participated the event expressed their deep gratitude for organising such an event.
Also, the 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (S) celebrated Teacher's Day at various schools of Pallel including Assam Rifles High School, Pallel High School, Ideal High School, Trinity High School and V M School on September 5 .
To mark the occasion, a mid-day meal was organised for the students of Pallel High School (Govt aided).
Colonel S Renganathan, ADIG, 26 Sect Assam Rifles, appreciated the yeoman service rendered by the teachers in providing education in these far flung areas.
He further emphasized the importance of Teachers Day and the need to emulate the achievements of our leading educationists.
Tokens of appreciation were presented to the teachers duly acknowledging their contributions in the field of education.
In another endeavor, the 3 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (S) also observed Teachers Day in schools of Sehlon Village, Old Samtal, Phoilen and Tuitong on September 5 .
Varieties of programs including cultural dance were presented by the students on the occasion followed by the emphasis on the importance of good education by the AR.
AR also distributed stationary items to students and teachers in these schools to promote education.
