Gaikhangam appeals not to impose blockade

Imphal, April 12 2015 :
Home Minister Gaikhangam Gangmei told reporters on Sunday that if the policemen are found guilty relating to the alleged kidnapping of a girl suitable actions will be taken up.
However the local residents and clubs should not impose blockade after April 15 .
The family members of the girl alleged that when they had gone to lodge a complaint the OC in charge reportedly abused them.
There has been a demand to have the officer transferred.
As a part of the agitation a blockade is planned if no action is taken up by April 15 .
He also disclosed that the centre has instructed the government to halt police modernization schemes.
However the state government will demand more fund for the police department.
He also said that the police training school at Pangei is upgraded to a college.
As a result sub inspector and assistant sub inspectors will be trained there.
