Governor Ganesan visits Chandel district

Governor La Ganesan has affirmed that the governments at the Centre and in the state are fully committed for all round development and welfare of the people.
Speaking at Sadbhavna Mandap in Chakpikarong town under Chandel district on Tuesday, La Ganesan maintained that the government is meant for the people and as such is working to ensure basic needs of the people.
While stating there has been a lot of progress in the last few years and many welfare schemes introduced by the centre, the Governor also contended that benefits of such schemes have been directly made available to the people through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
Further assuring the people a clean all-weather road, he said condition of all roads in the state will be improved within a year.
Appealing to the people of the district, mainly to those living in the border areas to extend cooperation to the government, Ganesan stressed the need for all citizens to enrol in the Aadhaar system for authentic identification.
"We should co-operate with the government to stop any intruder coming in to our state," he added.
He also expressed con fidence that proper fencing work would be started soon in the border line with Myanmar.
The Governor then called upon all the eligible citizens to get vaccinated against Covid-19 so that the contagious disease could be tackled effectively.
Earlier, Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and village chiefs submitted memorandums to the Governor urging him to look into the grievances of the villagers.
He assured that all possible help would be extended at the earliest.
During his visit, Ganesan also attended a tree plantation programme.
