Imphal, April 28 2022:
Primary teachers of the State across several districts continue to don black badges while conducting classes as a mark of protest against the non-implementation of the revised pay structure under the 7th pay commission.
In a statement, United Primary Teachers Association Manipur (UPTAM) said that these teachers neither have the time nor the inclination to take to the streets and protest.

They have to be present at schools at 8 am sharp to bestow the gift of knowledge to their students.
As such, the statement urged the State Government to fulfil their demand and give the teachers their due.
However, the statement cautioned that the association will resort to more democratic forms of protest if the Government does not take up appropriate action.
