L Rabichandra's death: Mob sets car of accused on fire

Imphal, April 28 2022:
An enraged mob set on fire an Alto car belonging to one Long-jam Jackson alias Sanjit, who is an accused in the controversial death of L Rabichandra of Sanjenbam Khullen Awang Leikai, who passed away at RIMS hospital on April 26 after getting physically assaulted.
Accused Jackson hails from Hiyanglam Makha Leikai but is presently residing at Nongren for farming.
On Thursday, a sit-in was staged at.
Nongpok Sanjenbam Khullen, protesting against the death of L Rabichandra.
Speaking on the sidelines, Rabichandra's elder brother Lousambam Amarjit recounted that his younger brother had been staying at Jackson's farm.
On April 22, Rabichandra was beaten up by some people but his (Rabichandra) family members were not informed.
Jackson then took Rabichandra to the hospital on April 24, following which the family came to know that he (Rabichandra) was injured.
When the family went to the hospital, they were informed that he was out of danger and as such, they brought him home for recuperation.
On the way back, Rabichandra seemed to be abnormally terrified and requested to stay with Jackson at the latter's farm.
The family relented to his request and allowed him to stay at the farm on April 25 night.
However, Jackson brought him back to the family after Rabichandra's health worsened.
The family immediately took him to RIMS hospital, wherein the attending doctor stated that his condition was serious and advised an emergency operation, which was performed shortly after but Rabichandra passed away in the early hours of April 26, Amarjit conveyed.
As such, Amarjit demanded strict action be taken up against the person(s) responsible, while adding that the family and the JAC will not claim the body until then.
