AMCTA emphasizes on college teachers' issues at NEC meeting

Imphal, April 28 2022:
M Lokendro Singh, president, All Manipur College Teachers' Association (AMCTA) and Dr M Imocha Singh, general secretary AMCTA recently represented Manipur at the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting and National Seminar NEP - 2020 of AIFUCTO held at DAV College, Amritsar, Punjab from April 23-24 .
As per a statement from AMCTA, the event was organised by Punjab and Chandigarh College Teachers' Union.
During the course of the event, Dr Imocha Singh presented the struggles and issues of college teachers in the State and appealed for the New Pension System (NPS) to be restored to the Old Pension System (OPS) while M Lokendro demanded that a PhD degree not be mandatory for an Asst Professor post, among others.
The gathering collectively resolved to demand for the repeal of NEP - 2020 and implementation of 7th UGC pay scale for the teachers of Punjab University and colleges.
