AGRIPROMCO launched in Ukhrul

In an effort to boost the agricultural practices in hilly areas, the AGRIPROMCO - a conglomerate of seven organizations working for improvisation of agriculture has been launched in Ukhrul today.
On Wednesday, District Industries Centre general manager L.Ngaitheng has formally launched the AGRIPROMCO at Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) hall with TNL VP N.Tuikhar and District Cooperative Officer as the guest of honour.
In his address, Ngaitheng stressed on the need to modernize the agricultural practices in the hilly areas and explore the marketing avenues.
He encouraged the the society to intensely work on these areas and bring changes in the economy.
In Ukhrul district alone, he said there are as many as 600 registered societies and none has focused on these fields.
Cooperative inspector Somi also spoke on the function and lauded the effort of seven organizations.
AGRIPROMCO general secretary AC Thotso moderated the programme and its chairman Thanchipem Jagoi gave the welcome address.
The function was also attended by various frontal Tangkhul bodies.
