Ukhrul, October 03 2012:
The rift within the State unit of the Nationalist Congress Party has apparently widened with former unit chief Radhabinod Koijam threatening to take up suitable course of action against the present unit chief L Ibomcha.
Speaking to the media at his Thangmeiband Lourung Purel Leikai residence today, RB Koijam said that MLA Ibomcha's claim of not having any difference of opinion in the State Unit was wrong.
The MLA was trying to misguide the public by making such fabricated clarifications, RB Koijam alleged.
Spelling out a detailed account of party expenditure for the last Assembly election, RB Koijam said, the NCP State Unit received Rs 2,98,00,000,00 from party headquarters as party fund for the said election.
The State unit gave Rs 18 lakhs to Laishom Ibomcha of Keishamthong A/C, Rs 17 lakhs to N Biren of Sekmai A/C, Rs 10 lakhs to Aleng AS Shimray of Ukhrul A/C, Rs 10.3 lakhs to N Ratan (Kapu) of Heingang A/C, Rs 15 lakhs to Rajen of Lamshang A/C and Rs 20 lakhs to M Manihar of Wabagai A/C .
However, alleging misappropriation of party fund against him, RB Koijam said, L Ibomcha, in his statement of expenditure claimed to have received a sum of Rs 5 lakhs from the State party unit.

Likewise, N Biren of Sekmai A/C also mentioned in his statement of expenditure that he did not receive any amount from the party fund, RB Koijam added.
RB Koijam said that if L Ibomcha continues trying to defame him with such false allegations, he would submit the detailed account to ECI.
Regarding State unit elections, RB Koijam said, along with the other office bearers, he was elected as the president and Wangu Kom as vice-president in the State Unit election held from April to July this year.
L Ibomcha however instigated one Gouradas to challenge the election in his favour, the former Chief Minister alleged.
However, the Court did not entertain the plea of issuing a stay order on appointment of new office bearers, RB Koijam said.
He added that if there was any dissatisfaction in the election of State party organisation, the matter must be complained to the State Election Authority appointed by the State Unit or the National Election Authority.
RB Koijam added that National general secretary issued an order regarding dissolution of the State party organisation under his presidentship.
The order also mentioned that an adhoc committee has been set up with L Ibomcha as the convenor.
However, the Court of Civil Judge Senior Division gave a ruling against constituting of the adhoc committee headed by L Ibomcha as the National general secretary's order was challenged at the said Court.
According to the party constitution, he added, no State Unit could be dissolved by the party headquarters without taking due consultation from the State Unit.
The former Chief Minister also alleged that Ibomcha wrongly informed National leaders that the State Unit was going to support PA Sangma in the President election.
RB Koijam added that he would remain as the State party president as the matter is still pending at the Court.
