TRUGPU, SSU beat opponents at 7th MSL

Imphal, October 03 2012: In a tough fight, ESU, Wangkhei went down after suffering a defeat of 2-3 to TRUGPU, Nambol in today's first match of the ongoing 7th Manipur State League organised by the All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) at Mapal Kangjeibung, Imphal.

Both teams played the match with full determination to win.

The first blood of the match was drawn in the 26th minute of the match by Ch Anankumar of TRUGPU.

Short of one goal, ESU players tried their best to equalise the score.

As a result, they equalised the score position in the 34th minute by T Nanao.

Three minutes later, Lanminthang Touthang scored a goal against TRUGPU in the 37th minute and took his team in the lead.

On the other hand, TRUGPU players who were leading the match were taken aback by the two successive goals of ESU and took sometime to regroup for another round of attacks.

In the second half, TRUGPU players landed a series of attacks against ESU and squared the score position with a goal of I Fernando in the 53rd minute of the match.

After equalising the score, both teams were looking for chances every now and then to sneak behind the defence of their opponents.

As a matter of luck and a bit of hard efforts, TRUGPU got the golden chance in the 87th minute and did not wasted the chance to convert into their winning goal.

The winning goal of the match was scored by M Robin of TRUGPU.

Later in the second match, a goalless USA, Khurai was defeated by SSU, Singjamei with two goals.

The two goals of SSU were scored by L Gogocha and Imran Khan in the 24th and 84th minutes respectively.
