BJP ex-MLA M Bhorot dubs Congress party as pseudo-secularist

Former BJP Manipur Pradesh president M Bhorot Singh has claimed that BJP is a party with a difference that believes in positive secularism while dubbing Congress party as pseudo-secularist.
During a reception programme held Saturday for five members of Tamenglong ADC and other prominent leaders who assured unconditionally support to Huri Golmei as a BJP candidate of 53 Tamenglong assembly constituency for the forthcoming general election, M Bhorot said, "BJP is a party with a difference that believes in positive secularism and it's not a communal party in comparison with other political parties like Congress which are pseudo- secularists" .
The event was held at Duithanlong, Spring Valley, Tamenglong district HQ.
Claiming that BJP is not a Hindu party but a pro-people organisation supported by every religion or faith, the senior state BJP leader and former Thangmeiband MLA attributed the party's massive parliamentary election victory in 2019 to its pro-people measures.
He added that day by day people's support to the BJP is increasing because NDA government led by BJP is committed to all-round development and welfare of people.
The ADC members who extended their unconditionally support to Huri Golmei as a BJP candidate were PR Guisinang representing Dailong segment, Kaniangmei Riamei (Awangkhul), Santhuiyang Pamei (Akhui), MG Poukinlung (Khongjaron) and B Thambou representing Haochong segment.
Also present at the event were Th Yumjao Singh, senior BJP leader and in charge of Tamenglong district and other party workers.
Speaking on the occasion, Huri Golmei, who is also "the state executive member of BJP Manipur Pradesh, exuded confidence that he will get the party's ticket and win the election with a big margin over his rivals because a large number of voters are now in favour of him! He jubilantly said that it's a big achievement in his political career to get the support of five ADC members, out of seven ADC members, and their workers for the forthcoming election.
The retired MFS officer, who once worked as a DFO of Tamenglong, further said that if he got elected as a legislator in the coming election, he would work diligently for the people with transparency and dedication.
He disclosed that his topmost priorities in the district are to bring better road connectivity in the rural areas and to focus on power sector for better electricity supply.
Education sector, health sector and conservation of forest and natural resources are also among his main priorities.
Huri Golmei also promised to work at the grassroots level for bringing social change and upliftment in all aspects with sound economic policies.
He thanked all for their support and prayers.
Gifts were also presented to the ADC members, party workers and dignitaries present at the event.
