MHRC issues proceeding order for separate 'Consumer Redressal Commission'

Ukhrul, September 05 2021:
Manipur Human Rights Commission (MHRC) has issued a proceeding order to the State Government to establish a separate Consumer Redressal Commission for Ukhrul and Kamjong district as well as to fill the vacant post of the commission.
Earlier a complaint was filed by two individuals from Ukhrul district, Aso Luithui and Ahao Zimik against the State Government to fill the three vacant posts of the Manipur State Consumer Redressal Commissioner and establish separate commissions for Ukhrul and Kamjong.
Acting Chairman MHRC, Khaidem Mani issued the proceeding order and asked the respondent (State Government) to submit their reports/ written statement on or before September 24 to the commission for further proceedings /order.
It may be mentioned that the complainant also referred to the order passed by Supreme Court of India in suo motu writ petition (Civil) no 2 of 2021, wherein all the states including the Government of Manipur have been directed to make known to the public regarding the potential vacancies.
