Joint DISHA meet of Senapati, Kangpokpi held

Outer Manipur MP and District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DDCMC) Senapati chairman Dr Lohro S Pfoze on Thursday chaired a joint meeting of District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) of Senapati and Kangpokpi districts held at the conference hall of deputy commissioner office, Senapati.
Dr Lohro, while informing that the DISHA meeting could not be convened as planned earlier due to the Covid pandemic, stressed on the need for ensuring proper banking facilities and setting up of model villages and the role to be played by DLOs.
During the meeting, various centrally sponsored schemes and programmes that have been implemented in Senapati and Kangpokpi districts under DRDA were discussed and officials of various line departments highlighted status of these schemes through PPT presentation.
They also discussed the drawbacks and outcomes of the programmes/schemes that have been implemented.
Briefing media persons after the meeting, Senapati DC Mahesh Chaudhari stated that various rural development schemes including 43 different Central Sponsored Schemes and Programmes were reviewed during the meeting.
Issues were discussed relating to how to solve the obstacles through interventions of political leaders.
NREGA, PMGSY, PHED, Electricity, solid waste management, etc., were reportedly some of the major issues discussed during the meeting.
The meeting is in continuation of similar exercises carried out in every district under the chairmanship of MP of the area concerned.
The meeting is aimed at aiding the district administration to sort out the issues and to keep in touch with the elected representatives of the area so as to ensure that developmental issues and programme are implemented smoothly.
The DC also stated that the district administration will promote one Sub-Division, one product.
It may be mentioned that the DISHA schemes/programmes are Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS), Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna-Gramin (PMAY-G), Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojna (PMKSY)/Integrated Watershed Management Programme (IWMP), Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojna - Haar Kheet Ko Pani - PMKSY (HKKP), Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna (PMGSY), National Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP), Swachh Bharat Mission-Gramin (SBM-G), National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP), Integrated Child Development Scheme(ICDS), National Health Mission (NHM), Samagra Shiksha, Mid-Day Meal Scheme (MDM), Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojna (PMUY), Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), Digital India-Public Internet Access Programmeproviding Common Service Centre in each Gram Panchayat, Implementation of National Food Security, Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY), Non-Lapsable Central Pool of Resources (NLCPR), Deen Dayal Upadhaya-Grameen Kaushalaya Yojana (DDU-GKY), Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), Soil Health Card (SHC), e-National Agriculture Markets (E- NAM), Shyama Prasad Mukherji Rurban Mission-National Rurban Mission (NRuM), Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS), Paramparaghat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVK), Surface Minor Irrigation Scheme and Sugamaya Bharat Abhiyan.
The meeting was also attended by MLAs Kimneo Haokip Hangshing (Saikul), J Kumo Sha (Karong), Losii Dikho (Mao), Haokholet Kipgen (Saitu AC) and representatives of Tadubi and Kangpokpi ACs, Senapati DC Mahesh Chaudhari, Kangpokpi DC Kengoo Zuringla, SDOs and DLOs of both districts, care-taker chairmen and CEO of Senapati and Kangpokpi ADCs and other officers.
