International Nurses' Week observed

College of Nursing, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal observed the International Nurses Week under the theme of "Nurses: A force for change: A vital resource for health" at the jubilee hall today.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof H.Jamuna, principal of College of Nursing, stressed on the role of nursing in healthcare services.
E.Debendra Meitei, Chief Accounts Officer, said that the role of the nurses in modern healthcare system has become indispensable.
Prof S.Sekharjit, who was the chief guest, said that on the ocasion of birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale we should vow to dedicate to the service of the sick.
He also said that efforts are on to open post graduate classes for nurses in College of Nursing.
The first batch of nursing graduates shall pass out on August 18 .
Prof N.Damayanti, HOD, Anatomy and adviser to College of Nursing, who presided over the function, was not happy that this time staff nurses and the nursing students were observing the function separately.
She also cautioned against media popularity for personal gains.
She said that the M.Sc.course in nursing may be opened from 2015 .
A large number of faculties, students and invitees were present during the function.
