Distribution of aid to Covid-hit families, CHICs continues

Various individuals and organisations continued to distribute aid to Covid-19 affected people and households in containment zones.
On Tuesday, All Manipur Muslim Organisations Co-ordinating Committee (AMMOCOC) Ningthounai Unit under the aegis of AMMOCOC H/Q distributed face masks and hand sanitizers to people who came out to buy or sell essentials items in areas under the Unit.
BJP Chingai Mandal under the aegis of former deputy speaker Preshow Shimray also distributed relief materials and cash to Covid-19 affected people from 17 villages starting from Ton-gou to Jessami as part of Seva Hi Sangathan Phase 2.BJP Manipur Pradesh council member and Covid-19 2nd Wave Fighting Task Force BJP Lamlai Mandal chairman Kh Ibomcha on Tuesday distributed edibles to households under containment zones in Sabungkhok Khunou, Sheijang, Yourabung, Itam Nungoi and Sawombung Gate under Lamlai assembly constituency along with monetary aid to Covid-19 Task Forces of Sabungkhok khunou, Your-abung and Sawombung.
BJP Manipur Pradesh state secretary Pukhrambam Somo-jit Singh and BJYM Khangabok Mandal also distributed edibles to households living under containment zones in Langthabal AC and Khangabok AC respectively.
Similarly, former candidate from Wabagai AC social worker Mayengbam Ranjit distributed 5 kg rice each to 400 families of Wabagai Kadajit through Kadajit Youth Welfare Associated Club (KYWAC) on Tuesday.
Intending candidate from Sugnu AC Mayanglambam Binod too provided hand sanitizer, face masks, oximeter, vaporisers and cash to 33 BJP Booth Level Committee presidents along with edibles for distribution to several households in the constituency.
On Monday, International Peace and Social Advancement (IPSA) and many others distributed aid to Covid-19 frontline workers (FLWs), Community Home Isolation Centres (CHICs), Covid Care Centres (CCCs) and Covid-19 affected people in various parts of the state.
A team led by IPSA president T Birjit provided edibles, face masks and sanitizers to personnel of Manipur Police and IRB performing duty at various areas of Imphal.
Speaking on the sidelines, T Birjit stated that the simple gifts were presented to honour the Manipur Police and IRB personnel who are one of the Covid-19 frontline warriors in the fight against the pandemic.
Meanwhile, BJYM Imphal East District as a part of BJP's 'Seva Hi Sangathan' phase II in collaboration with respective MLAs and BJP leaders of Thongju, Keirao, Heingang, Lamlai, Andro and Khundrakpam AC distributed edibles, sanitizers and face masks to five CCCs and 30 poor families of the respective ACs.
Social worker Maibam Deepak (Kondumba) of Wabagai Kadajit in collaboration with Kadajit Youth Welfare Associated Club (KYWAC) also provided cash of Rs 700, hand sanitizers and face masks to inmates of Wabagai Awang Leikai Primary School CHIC along with edibles, hand sanitizers and mask to 27 households at Wabagai Kadajit.
Meanwhile, Wabagai Awang Leikai Youth Development Association (WALYDA) president Mayengbam Ranjit Luwang which runs the Wabagai Awang Leikai Primary School CHIC stated that the CHIC was opened by the Association without waiting for the permission of the government after surge in Covid-19 cases in the locality.
So far, no government assistance has been provided for the CHIC and is being run using donation from social workers, he said and urged the government to look into the matter.
On the other hand, social worker Thounaojam Sanjoy of Siphai Leikai distributed edibles to 450 households at Yairipok Municipal Council Ward No 1; Drugs De-addiction Treatment Centre, Yairipok Bishnunaha and CHIC opened for Wangkhem AC.
Toubul BJP Covid-19 Worrier and Integrated Art's And Social Development Organisation Toubul under the aegis of MPCC/KVIB chairman and Oinam MLA L Radhakishor Khuman distributed edibles to 71 households under containment zone at Toubul.
