BJP workers advised to strengthen party

Prior to leaving Imphal after her two-day visit, union minister for women and child development Smriti Zubin Irani advised BJP workers to use social media platforms to increase the party's strength.
BJP Manipur Pradesh felicitated Smriti Irani at the party's office here before her departure for the national capital on Sunday.
Titular king of Manipur and Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba also attended the function.
Addressing the gathering, Smriti Irani said that the party is like a family and there are certain protocols within the party.
Party workers need to follow these protocols.
On the other hand, having good communication is very crucial in party organisation.
Today is the age of social media and around 80 per cent of the population are active on social media.
As such, it can be used as an effective means of increasing party's strength, she said, while advising party workers to utilise the medium to reach out to the public.
The minister said that the central government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ensured that no one went hungry during the pandemic by distributing rice and cereals free of cost across the country including Manipur.
Poor people of the country have been linked with banks through zero balance account opening.
Approximately 44 crore zero balance bank accounts have been opened across the country and half of them belong to women.
Digital literacy programmes for women in rural area were.
taken up and around 2 crore rural women have registered under these programmes, of which over 1 crore have got their certificates, she said.
The Union minister advised the party workers to put the nation first before themselves and the party, and to promote the sense of nationalism ahead of the forthcoming election.
BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda Devi said that she and Smriti Irani had been together since the 2003 Delhi election when they were among the lead campaigners.
The union minister had faced several obstacles as a women's leader and reached her current position, she said.
She is one of the best leaders of BJP and she defeated Rahul Gandhi of Congress in the 2019 Lok Sabha election in Amethi seat.
She has been bringing up several key issues concerning the country, Sharda added.
