Zeliangrong CSOs hail CM, welcome Go To Hills 2.0

Several Zeliangrong civil society organisations have welcomed the Go To Hills 2.0 campaign launched by CM N Biren and also exhorted other hill-based organisations to withdraw the boycott of the same and extend cooperation to bring equitable development in the state and hill areas in particular.
In a joint statement, Zeliangrong Intellectual Forum Manipur president Gaikhangduan Pamei, Zeliangrong Women Front Manipur president Thaitangliu Pamei, Zeliangrong Senior Citizen Association (AMN) president Olive Kamei, Zeliangrong Human Rights Protection Forum president Robert Gonmei, Ex-MDCs Welfare Association Tamenglong district president Tadinang Gangmei, Kuilong Area Village Authority Council Association president Ngoubuibou and People's Development Vigilance Forum Tamenglong (PDVFT) secre tary Asui Phaomei stressed the need for the people, especially those settling in the hills to extend support to the government's endeavour to bring uniform development in the state.
The CSOs also appealed to hill based Organisations, which are boycotting the campaign in the aftermath of Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker's order appointing nine valley based MLAs in the HAC, to withdraw the boycott as Speaker's order has been officially withdrawn.
"We request CSOs and the general public to support such pro-people initiatives which consider the needs of common citizens and beneficiaries who otherwise are unable to voice their grievances with respect to various government schemes and benefits," said the CSO functionaries.
It said that people of Tamenglong and Noney districts are already happy to learn that CM is scheduled to make his visit in the last part of the month.
It said the campaign is commendable and CSOs are ready to extend wholehearted welcome and support even if the programme is held ahead of schedule.
The campaign brought hill people closer to the systematic governance of the BJP government in development irrjfit, claimed the CSOs and added that the long spell of hill-valley divide perpetuated by the Congress government has been changed and the big divide has been bridged with the coming of the BJP government.
It also noted that the multi-pronged initiatives of the government to maintain peace and communal harmony in the state for the last four years and a half are highly appreciated by one and all.
Similarly, Tamenglong District People's Organisation, Manipur (TDPOM) on behalf of the people of Tamenglong welcomed the CM's Go to Hills 2.0.A release issued by TDPOM president SK Agong and secretary Gonmei Gaisingam informed that Go to Hills 2.0 ensures people in remote places to avail benefits of various welfare schemes at their doorstep.
TDPPOM also lauded the implementation of schemes including PMUY LPG connection for every eligible woman, opening of Bank Account at village level for aged persons with pension schemes, Kisan Vikas scheme and distributing on spot official documents by deputing officers concerned.
TDPOM further appealed all the head of departments to be stationed at their respective offices or place of posting to fulfil the relentless effort of the N Biren-led government.
"We will be very much delighted and looking forward to welcome N Biren and his colleagues to Tamenglong HQ with wide open arms," it said.
