Many meet Governor with peace call

The Inspector General of Police of RAF, Manipur Public Service Commission Chairman, Adhivakta members, Koireng Youth Organisation and All Manipur Brahmin Organisation called on Governor Anusuiya Uikey today at Raj Bhavan.
Anne Abraham, IGP, Rapid Action Force and five other officers of RAF called on Governor Anusuiya Uikey and briefed her about the prevailing situation and security measures put in place to prevent any further untoward incidents in the State.
She also highlighted the deployment of security forces in the most vulnerable areas of Imphal region.
The Governor advised the IGP to take all necessary and rapid action to contain the prevailing violence.

During their meeting, All Manipur Brahmin Organisation convenor Aribam Mangishana Sharma and five others appealed to the Governor to facilitate the rebuilding of many of the worship places that were burnt, destroyed or damaged in the aftermath of the clashes irrespective of religion.
The team went on to point out the atrocities carried out at the religious site in Koubru Leikha in Kangpokpi district.
They also apprised the Governor about the condition of the victims after the May 3 ethnic clash and the difficulties faced by many of the displaced people.
Separately, a team of Koireng Youth Organisation including KYO president RN Boipu Koireng and three others urged the Governor to provide security, protection and safety to the Koireng tribe along with provision of essential commodities.
Further, the team urged her to take all possible steps to normalize the situation in the State and expressed appreciation for her efforts to contain the violence and provide immediate relief and rehabilitation to the displaced people.
Members of Adhivakta including general secretary Salam Rupachandra Singh, joint secretary S Suresh Singh and Mahila Pramukth Laishram Sanjeeka Devi urged the Governor to restore normalcy and tranquility in Manipur.
The Governor appealed to everyone to pour their efforts into establishing peace and harmony in the State.
