CM assured secuirty posts along NH-37 : TDC

Chief Minister N Biren Singh has reportedly given an assurance to set up security posts at strategic locations along National Highway-37 (Imphal-Jiribam road) and deploy adequate security personnel for the safety of transporters and drivers moving along the route.
The assurance was given to the Transporters and Drivers Council (TDC) .
Today, members of TDC led by its president H Ranjit called on Chief Minister N Biren Singh and coveyed the difficulties being faced in bringing in essential commodities to Imphal.
It is reported that the meeting lasted for about an hour.
Addressing a press briefing later today at MG Avenue, H Ranjit said that the Chief Minister gave a positive response to a list of demands brought up by them including safety of transporters and drivers alike while moving along National Highway-37 .
H Ranjit further stated that the Chief Minister has directed the officials concerned to open a permanent security post in between Keithelmanbi and Tupul along Imphal-Jiribam road and one similar post each at Noney, Awangkhul, Irang and Keimai areas to prevent an attack on transporters and drivers.
H Ranjit asked all drivers to verify whether they can reach Imphal safely before taking the road by consulting with the general secretary of All Manipur Road Transport Driver's & Motor Worker's Union (AMRTDMWU) .
"If there are any threats to the drivers then the TDC will consult with the Manipur Government to take up appropriate measures," he added.
