Night curfew shortened, unlock process continues

The state government has relaxed few more hours of the state-wide night curfew and permitted few more activities in continuation of its unlocking process which will remain in effect for 15 days from September 7 .
In an order issued Monday, State Executive Committee chairman and chief secretary Dr Rajesh Kumar conveyed that state-wide night curfew will be en forced strictly from 7 pm to 4 am but no social gatherings/feasts would be permitted.
Some more activities that have been permitted include normal functioning of all secretariat departments along with state and central government offices with e-office and physical attendance of all government employees; opening of insurance companies on all working days from 10 am to 3:30 pm; normal functioning of postal services on all working days from 10 am to 3:30 pm; opening of banking services on all working days from 10 am to 2:30 pm along with opening of opticians from 9 am to 5 pm, it mentioned.
The order also stated that all standalone shops located outside Paona Bazar and Thangal Bazar may open from 7 am to 5 pm, all vehicle workshops from 7 am to 5 pm and local vegetable vendors from 7 am to 4 pm, while the three Ima Keithel will remain closed.
Local grocery shops can open from 7 am to 5 pm, while shops selling fish poultry and poultry products can open from 8 am to 5 pm and shops selling milk and fresh milk products can open every day from 6 am to 2 pm.
Wholesale shops of grocery and food essentials located in Thangal Bazar and Masjid Road will be allowed to open from 7 am to 5 pm on scheduled basis, while shops in Thangal and Paona Bazar can open on roster basis barring Sunday from 8 am to 5 pm except for shops in by-lanes of buildings, it stated.
The order further said that vehicle showrooms and service centres will be allowed to open from 8 am to 5 pm.
Shopping malls can open from 10 am to 4 pm subject to limiting the number of customers inside the mall and strict observance of Covid Appropriate Behaviour.
Gymnasiums/fitness centres can also open from 5 am to 10 am with strict observance of Covid Appropriate Behaviour.
Brick kilns, stone crushers and furniture manufacturing units are also allowed to open with strict adherence to Covid Appropriate Behaviour.
Private construction work has also been allowed, the order added.
