Bandh deferred

The indefinite bandh called by students' bodies of Jiribam along NH-37 has been deferred for some days as the Government has given assurance to fulfill their demands.
Speaking to the media, A Rajiv Meetei, president, MSF district committee Jiribam said the indefinite bandh along NH-37 which was slated to start from midnight of September 7 has been deferred as the Government had assured that the demands of the unions to post adequate number of teachers at Jiribam Higher Secondary School and Borobekra Higher Secondary School, Jiribam will be solved at the earliest.
The ban which was imposed on Government schools and ZEO office in Jiribam has also been lifted, he added.
Paomingam Haokip, general secretary KSO Jiribam and Tamenglong, said the Government should keep their promises to fulfill their demands at the earliest.
