Eye donation fortnight held at Thoubal

Thoubal, September 06 2021:
Under the aegis of District Health Society Thoubal, National Programme for Control of Blindness and Vision Impairment (NPCB & VI) organised 36th National Eye Donation Fortnight 2021 at Thoubal DC office complex.
The eye donation programme held under the theme 'Enlighten Someone's World, Donate Your Eyes' was attended by Thoubal DC Rangnamei'Rang Peter as chief guest, CMO Dr Y Nokul Singh as president while District Family Welfare Officer Dr Ksh Memcha Devi, District Malaria Officer Dr L Joykumar Singh and District Hospital opthalmologist Dr N Linthoinganbi were the guests of honour.
Addressing the gathering, DC Rang Peter said that donating eyes to make a blind person see indeed is an act of God and people should have the habit of donating their eyes.
He also stressed the need for creating awareness on organ donation after death in every nook and corner of the state.
An awareness programme on eye donation was also held as part of the event.
