Imphal West, Thoubal CDOs nab five drug smugglers

Imphal, September 06 2021:
Imphal West district police commandos arrested two drug smugglers with 642 grams of brown sugar on Monday.
The nabbed peddlers have been identified as Kamginmon Haokip alias Mona (24) son of Mangkholen Haokip of Kongjanglok village and Seitinthang Kipgen alias Seineu (35) son of (Late) Lenkhopao Kipgen of Koite village, Churachandpur.
According to police, acting on inputs given by NAB about transportation of some illegal items like drugs, the commando team led by its OC inspector P Achouba under the supervision of Additional SP (ops) Amarjit Lamabam conducted frisking and checking at Sekmai Kaojengleima area.
During the operation, the team checked a Bolero vehicle olive green in colour (AS01D 6554) coming from Imphal side at Sekmai Kaojengleima and found 54 soap caps containing suspected brown sugar weighing 642 grams inside the vehicle and arrested the two smugglers.
Upon interrogation, Kamginmon disclosed that he procured the suspected brown sugar from one lady named Neneng of Moreh through one Seilen Haokip of Tuibong Bazar, Churachandpur on September 4 and is to be handed over to person named Vicky at Dimapur.
The arrested drug smugglers along with the seized items have been handed over to Sekmai PS for initiating necessary legal action.
On the other hand, a team of Commando comprising women personnel of Lilong PS under the supervision SP Thoubal Jogeschandra Haobijam arrested three drug peddlers on September 4 around 4pm.The arrested trio has been identified as Md Mujibur (43) of Lilong Atoukhong Maning Leikai, Deineihoi Haokip (25) wife of Hemminson Haokip of Moreh Ward No 2 and Minlan Tuboi (37) son of Jangpou Tuboi of Ward No 9.As per police report, acting on reliable information about transportation of illegal drugs in Lilong Turel Ahanbi Ubakthong Makha area, the commando team conducted frisking and checking along Lilong Idgah Road.
During the operation, one unknown person was seen coming on foot towards Lilong dam in a very suspicious manner.
Accordingly, he was detained for verification.
He identified himself as Md Mujibur and on proper search of his body, one black coloured polythene bag containing 22 soap caps suspected to be heroin powder was seized.
Thereafter, he disclosed that the suspected heroin powder was given to him by two people who came in a Bolero vehicle white in colour just ten minutes before.
Consequently, the police team chased the vehicle immediately by contacting them through Md Mujibur's phone and arrested the two people identified as Deineihoi Haokip and Minlan Tuboi at Lilong Bazar near oil pump.
