NSUI seeks SC probe into JEE question leakage case

National Students' Union of India (NSUI), Manipur state unit organised a protest demonstration against leaking of question paper of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2021 for admission to top engineering colleges of the country and demanded a supreme court supervised probe to find the root of the leakage.
NSUI members under the leadership of its president Md Kabir Ahmad staged the demonstration at BT Road on Monday while holding placards demanding a thorough investigation.
Interacting with the media at the protest site, NSUI general secretary Joysan Khoho said that CBI has registered a case after confirming question leakage in an initial investigation.
NSUI is now demanding an enquiry into the matter under the chairmanship of a sitting Supreme Court judge since it is a key exam for several potential youth of the country.
He further said that the central government should be held responsible and it shows that the National Testing Agency has failed.
Congress party had pointed out the flaws in the system during a press conference in the national capital and NSUI is holding nationwide protest against the incident, he said and added that Monday's protest was organised as part of the nationwide movement.
Question leakage in JEE-Main creates suspicion of possible leakage in other competitive examinations as well.
It is an outcome of the Modi government ignoring issues faced by the states.
NTA was formed by the Modi government and the recent question leakage has questioned the transparency of the agency, he said and demanded the union HRD minister to resign on moral ground.
