Power employees form JAC; to cease work

Imphal, September 06 2021:
A Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Manipur Electricity Employees' Union (MEEU), Power Engineers Services Association, MSPCL (PESA) and MSPDCL Officers' Association (MOA) has been formed to press the state government for implementing 7th Pay (ROP-2019) .
Addressing media persons in the presence of PESA secretary Soram Sunnyboy and MOA executive secretary Y Bhopendra, MEEU general secretary T Shyamnagor informed that a joint meeting of the employees' association was held at MEEU office, Keishampat on Monday during which those present resolved to form a JAC and support the strike called by MEEU if the government fails to fulfil the demand within September 7 .
Further, any decision or agreement with the government regarding implementation of 7th Pay (ROP-2019) will be decided by the JAC, he said and cautioned that they will stage sit-in protest and lock the corporate offices of MSPCL and MSPDCL on September 8 and followed by closure of the prepaid counter on September 9 and locking division offices.
In case there is no positive response from the government the employees will launch cease work strike and non-maintenance of power outages from September 10 onwards till implementation of 7th Pay (ROP-2019) .
