NPF grabs 17 seats, decimates INC, BJP in most Ukhrul DCCs

Giving a terrible blow to the supposedly major political players INC and BJP with just 2 and 1 seats respectively, NPF has bagged a whooping 17 seats out of 24 ADC seats, while 4 seats miraculously went to Independent candidates in the recent MHAADC Election 2015 in Ukhrul district.
In 9-Ukhrul North DCC, Edmund Chiphang NPF candidate scored 1148 votes to beat his nearest rival Thothing Kashung ( BJP) by a margin of 55 votes, while Independent candidate HA Vareishang defeated Kh Sami Ignatius from NPF by scoring 1499 votes ahead by 215 votes.
The other 16 NPF candidates who emerged successful are Wezope Lohe from 1-Jessami DCC securing 1746 votes, Themreishang AS from 3-Chingai DCC with 1376 votes, K Dickson from 4-Nungbi DCC scoring 1201 votes, VS Paothing of 5-Huining DCC with 1073 votes, Kapangpam Zimik from 6-Tallu DCC with 944 votes, Thuingahan from 7-Kachai DCC with 1860, J Thanchipen from 8-Somdal DCC with 1822, SP Mashungnam from 13-Shangshak DCC with 2313 votes, VL Khayinghor from 14- Teinem DCC with 1802, Dr.Yaronsho Ngalung from 15-Tongou DCC with 1165 votes, S Yangmi from 17-Chatric DCC with 818, K Ramshang from 18-Kamjong DCC with 1444, M Isaac from 20-Phungyar DCC with 1195 votes, Somiyar Awungshi from 21-Shingkap DCC with 1253 votes while KS Thanmi from 22-Loute Riha DCC and N Wungreiyo from 24-Nambashi DCC scored 1516 and 1027 votes respectively.
Of the 4 Independent candidates, R Lawrence from 2-Chingjaroi DCC secured 1382 votes, while HS Ngamsung from 11-Khamasom DCC and Jamkholet Khongsai from 16-Zalengbung DCC scored 1129 and 1632 to deafeat their rivals by wide margins.
Meanwhile, INC managed to come up with 2 seats with its candidates Samson Khodang from 19-Grihang DCC and S Thotshang from 23-Kasom Khullen DCC scoring 780 and 1516 votes to beat their closest rivals from Independent with 741 and NPF candidate with 1305 votes.
Interestingly, NPF candidate K Ringphami suffered a defeat with BJP candidate Mark Luithing secured 1428 votes ahead by just 2 votes in 12-Choithar DCC.
